ATHLETICS

Athletics is considered the oldest  sport in the world, it has numerous disciplines:
- running
-  jumping
-  throwing 
-  walking.


RACES:
Sprint;  is running over a short distance in a limited period of time. 100 m,   200m and 400m
- Middle distance; 800 m, 1.500 m and 3.000 m
Long distance; 5.000 m, 10.000 m,  half marathon (21KM) and   marathon (42KM) 
- Relay races; 4X100m and 4X400 m

ORIENTEERING

Orienteering is a sport that consist in going from  point to point  using a map and a compass. Participants have to find control points

BASKETBALL


BASKETBALL
Basketball is a team sport.

MATCH DURATION: There are 4 periods of  10 minutes each
PLAYERS: Two teams of five players each  (12 maximum)

The Rules

-The game begins with one player from either team at center circle.

 

-Score: two points(into the three points arch)/ three points /one point

 

-Walking/Traveling. Taking more than two steps and without dribbling  the ball.

-Double Dribble. Dribbling the ball with both hands / dribbling picking up the ball and then dribbling again.

 

- Once the team in possession of the ball has crossed the half-court line, it can not cross back the line with the ball.



- Personal fouls:  include any type of illegal physical contact.

·         Hitting
·         Pushing
·         Slapping
·         Holding
·         

-Personal foul penalties: If a player is shooting while a being fouled, then he gets two free throws.

WARMING UP

Warm up consists in preparing our body and mind for an intensive activity.

                                                   THREE PARTS:

1. Stretching
2. Joint mobility
3. Game

 Warming up brings the body to a condition at which it safely responds and a quick and efficient action.



BASIC PHISICAL ABILITIES

BASIC PHYSICAL ABILITIES.

There are four basic physical qualities or abilities (BPA): Strength, Resistance, Speed and Flexibility.


 Strength is the ability to overcome resistance.


Speed is the physical capacity that allows us to perform movements and displacements in the shortest time posible


Endurance  is the body´s ability to exercise for a long time



Flexibility is the ability to make broad gestures.
